Managing your contacts effectively is essential for keeping your communication and marketing efforts organized. With Customerly, you can easily segment, filter, update, and export your contacts list. Here’s a complete guide on how to make the most of these features.
📋 default contact views
When you access your contacts list in Customerly, you'll see it organized into three default categories:
All Users: Verified and active users of your platform.
All Leads: Potential users who may have engaged via chat or email but haven’t converted yet.
All Active Users: Contacts being active in the past 31 days.
New users: Recently added contacts, either manually or via integration.
These categories give you a quick snapshot of your audience.
🔍 filtering your contacts
To narrow down your list, you can apply filters using several criteria:
Properties: Any custom data (e.g.,
Country
,Plan type
,First seen at
).Tags: Labels you've added manually or via automation (e.g.,
VIP
,Trial
,Support-needed
).Campaigns: Behavioral data from email campaigns (e.g., opened, clicked).
Events: Actions your users have taken (e.g., signed up, completed checkout).
Company or contact data: Segment based on associated company info.
Simply click “All contacts” and use “Add filter” to apply your criteria.
💾 saving your filtered list
Once your filters are in place:
Click “Save list” in the top-right corner.
Choose to create a new list or update an existing one.
Give your list a name and hit Save.
Your saved list will appear in the right-hand sidebar for easy access at any time.
📤 exporting contact lists
You can export any saved contact list in just a click:
Choose your list.
Click Export.
Select your desired format: CSV or Excel.
This is perfect for external analysis, reporting, or backup purposes.
🗑️ deleting contacts
You have full control over contact deletion:
Delete an entire list: Permanently remove all contacts in a saved list (aka bulk deletion).
Manual deletion: Select and remove individual contacts. Be cautious—deleting is irreversible, and the data will no longer be available for campaigns or support.
Please note that you'll be able to delete only the lists created, not the default lists. Once a list or contact has been deleted, they can't be recovered.

Manual input: Click on “Add contact” and fill in the details like name, email, properties, and tags.
Import via CSV/Excel: Upload a file to bulk import multiple contacts. Make sure your columns match the required format for a smooth import.
