If your emails are going to spam and you are trying to improve your deliverability there are some things to consider.

When sending email campaigns with Customerly you should know that we warm up our addresses for you, so this is something you should not care about.

We have strict protocols to protect our community and this includes a manual check of all outgoing emails.

We constantly monitor our IP status with Outlook to see if there are any abnormal statuses.

As you can see below, we never had abnormal statutes since we integrated our strict policy.

On top of this, we have a system in place to flag automatically suspicious emails to avoid the send.

We also track the complaint rates on Outlook SNDS to be sure we are compliant with their numbers.

Something you should be aware though is that the Outlook spam filter works with a "Block all unknown emails" until you whitelist it.

To avoid spam filters try to:

  • Ask Subscribers to Whitelist your email address

  • Do not Spam your email list, always ask permission to send emails

  • Start slow (200 emails per week), increase sending after a while

  • Avoid emails with too many links

  • Check for multiple typos

  • Don't write Spammy Subject Lines

  • Clean your lists of inactive contacts

Spam algorithms are more sophisticated than you think and fortunately, we don't know how they work exactly cause otherwise, they will not work anymore.

There isn't an exact science on how to avoid them, but if you are genuine and your customers love to read your emails, you will probably never have an issue.
