How VAT Is Applied on Your Customerly Invoices

At Customerly, we apply VAT (Value Added Tax) based on your business type and country of residence, following European tax regulations.

Here’s how it works:

🇮🇪 If You Are Based in Ireland

If your billing address is in Ireland, we are required by law to charge 23% VAT on all invoices always, regardless of whether you have a VAT number or not.

🇪🇺 If You Are Based in the European Union (EU)

✅ You have a valid VAT number (registered in VIES)

If your company is VAT-registered and listed in the VIES database, you will not be charged VAT.

Make sure your VAT number is correctly added and validated in your Customerly billing settings.

🚫 You don’t have a VAT number (private or non-VIES registered)

If you are located in the EU without a VAT number, VAT will automatically be added to your invoice.

We consider any account without a VAT number in the settings as a private individual.

🌍 If You Are Outside the European Union

If your billing address is outside the EU, we do not charge VAT on your invoices.

⚙️ How to Check or Add Your VAT Number

You can verify or add your VAT number by following these steps:

  1. Go to your Customerly Dashboard

  2. Click Settings → Billing

  3. Enter your company VAT number

  4. Make sure it is VIES-validated (we automatically check this)
